Peugeot Paint Options
The brand-new Peugeot range has plenty of options available, from small compact hatchbacks right through to spacious SUVs and everything in between.
If you’ve already decided what can is best for you, it comes to the exciting bit…choosing the specification.
The paint finish and colour might not be on the top of your list of priorities, but conversely, it might be one of the main things in the decision making process.
First up, we’ll look at the paint finishes that are available across the Peugeot range. There’s three options to choose from; solid paint, metallic paint and signature/pearlescent paint. The paint finish you choose will depend on the colour options available to you.
Solid paint: Solid paint is the most popular type of paint on the market, as it is the cheapest option and doesn’t often involve additional costs at the time of purchasing a new car, whereas metallic and pearlescent do.
Solid paint colours are often the generic colours such as white, black and red, rather than more unique colours such as burnt orange.
If there comes a point where you need to repair a chip in the paint work or your car needs a bigger repair, the cost to repair (or replace) solid paint is much cheaper, so should be a consideration when it comes to making your decision.
Metallic paint: Metallic paint is often shinier to look at, especially when the light reflects in the paintwork. This is because metallic paint has small aluminium pieces combined into the mixture that allow the paint to look shinier in light.
Metallic paint does cost more when you purchase your car and is considered an ‘option’ in some cases due to the cost.
Signature/Pearlescent paint: Pearlescent paint is one step above metallic and often has an even shinier surface.
Due to this, pearlescent paint is harder to repair but also more likely to scratch, so this should be taken into account when making your decision.
Again, pearlescent paint does cost more when you purchase your car and is considered an ‘option’ in most cases due to the cost.
