New Peugeot 408 in Perth
The New Peugeot 408 emerges as the inaugural Fastback of its kind, boasting elevated ground clearance and a foray into electrification, ready to revolutionize your journeys. The plug-in hybrid variant offers two robust power outputs at 180hp and 225hp, accompanied by an electric range extending beyond 40 miles. Alternatively, one can opt for the 130 PureTech petrol engine, complete with start & stop technology. All three powertrains seamlessly integrate with the EAT8 automatic gearbox, and keep an eye out for the forthcoming all-electric e-408 set to join the lineup in 2023.
An impressive array of over 30 assistance systems is at your disposal, including the option of Adaptive Cruise Control with Stop and Go and the Night Vision system, which may be available as standard or optional depending on your chosen trim grade. For those seeking an extra layer of autonomy, consider the Drive Assist 2.0 package, enabling semi-autonomous driving. This package combines Adaptive Cruise Control with Stop and Go functionality and Lane Keeping Assist, seamlessly facilitating semi-automatic lane changes.
The available trims encompass Allure, Allure Premium and GT, each offering distinct advantages.
Design
Masterfully sculpted with angular lines, sharp LED headlights and 17” to 20” alloy wheels, the new Peugeot 408 demands a second look. Inside, the i-Cockpit amazes with plush materials, figure-hugging seats and abundant passenger space.
Drive
The new 408 stays true to its Fastback shape with a sporty and refined drive. The plug-in hybrid has Electric, Hybrid and Sport modes, charging from 0-100% in as little as 1hr 55mins at home with the optional 7.4kW on board charger.
Practicality
Thanks to its generous wheelbase, the new 408 has a huge 536-litre boot (471-litres in PHEV variants), expanding up to 1,611-litres. An electric tailgate and keyless entry and start come as standard to make access and loading simple.
Living with it
With abundant space and advanced assistance systems like 360 Vision and long range blind spot recognition available, the new 408 is a pleasure to own. The PHEV model will also slash your running costs, using no petrol around town.
